The Golden Goggle Awards, presented by USA Swimming is an awards ceremony which the best American swimmers on a yearly basis. It serves as an important fundraiser for USA Swimming, as all proceeds from the event benefit the USA Swimming Foundation. According to USA Swimming, the event has generated 2.3 million dollars in profit since 2004, and the concomitant Silent Auction has raised nearly 300,000 dollars since its inception in 2012. There are eight categories: Breakout Performer of the Year, Coach of the Year, Perseverance Award, Relay Performance of the Year, Male Race of the Year, Female Race of the Year, Male Athlete of the Year, and Female Athlete of the Year.[1]
