Go Blonde Festival

The Go Blonde Festival is a yearly event held in Latvia.[1] It involves blond women dressed in pink going on a parade in Riga in order to promote economic growth and cheer up people. The event is organized by the Latvian Association of Blondes.

The parade has also become a tourist attraction in Riga for visitors drawn by more than the city's fine Art Nouveau architecture.[2] It is a tourism generator, compared to events such as carnivals in Brazil and Italy. [3]

Every year the festival gets more world attention and has grown into the biggest Blondes festival in the world. The previous Go Blonde festivals received international media attention. German national TV channel 1 created a documentary about Latvian Blondes association. The festival was covered by over 500 internet portals globally, the CNN, as well as the popular lifestyle magazines Glamour, Marie Claire in the USA, Grazia in England and Italy. Also its getting attention from Turkish and Russian media.

This year "Go Blonde” is going to organize the fourth festival which will take a part in Jurmala, Latvia, this year 13th of July. The whole day will feature activities on water and on the beach, Marilyn Monroe lookalike contest, Miss and Mister Australian Gold beauty pageant finale, tennis and golf tournaments, Harley Davidson bike parade. The festival will be concluded with a party all night long, with local celebrities as well as internationally renowned DJs and performers.
