Gnaeus Octavius (disambiguation)
Gnaeus Octavius was a name used for men among the gens Octavia. Gnaeus was one of the four chief praenomina used by the Octavii, the other three being Gaius, Marcus and Lucius. The most known member was the consul in 87 BC, distant relative of Augustus through his ancestor Gnaeus Octavius Rufus.
Gnaeus Octavius also refers to men from the so-called Octavii Rufi family of the gens Octavia:
- Gnaeus Octavius Rufus, quaestor circa 230 BC, disputed ancestor of Augustus;
- Gnaeus Octavius, praetor in 205 BC, son of the previous;
- Gnaeus Octavius, consul in 165 BC, son of the previous;
- Gnaeus Octavius, consul in 128 BC, son of the previous;
- Gnaeus Octavius Rufus, quaestor in 107 BC, possibly the same as the consul in 87 BC;
- Gnaeus Octavius, consul in 87 BC, son of the consul in 128 BC;
- Gnaeus Octavius, consul in 76 BC, son of a Marcus Octavius and grandson of another Gnaeus Octavius, possibly the consul in 128 BC.
