Gioiosa Marea (Sicilian: Giujusa) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Messina in the Italian region Sicily, located about 130 kilometres (81 mi) east of Palermo and about 60 kilometres (37 mi) west of Messina. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 7,237 and an area of 26.3 square kilometres (10.2 sq mi).[1]
