Gentleman Jole and the Red Queen is a science fiction novel by Lois McMaster Bujold. It is an installment in Bujold's Vorkosigan Saga.[1] Bujold has described it as "not a war story. It is about grownups."[2]
The concept for the cover art was designed by Bujold herself.[3]
The paper edition is "tentatively" scheduled for publication by Baen Books in February 2016.[4] The eARC was released for sale on the publisher's website on October 21st, 2015.[5]
Three years after the death of Aral Vorkosigan, Admiral Jole of the Sergyar Fleet (who once was Aral's subordinate as well as lover) receives a proposal. Aral’s widow Cordelia Naismith Vorkosigan proposes having a new child, one created from the genes of Jole and the frozen gametes of Aral.
