Genadendal Residence

Genadendal Residence is the official residence of the President of South Africa when in office at Tuynhuys, Cape Town.[1] Genadendal is situated in Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa. It has been the official residence since 1994 when Nelson Mandela took up residence here rather than neighbouring Groote Schuur.[2] The building, formerly known as Westbrook, is named after the town of Genadendal[3] itself an Afrikaans word meaning "Valley of Mercy".[4]
