Geir Barvik

Geir Barvik (born 19 May 1958 in Bø, Telemark) is a Norwegian civil servant and banker.

He served as a head of department in the Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development, before he was appointed chief executive of the Norwegian State Housing Bank by the government in 2001.[1] In 2010 he was appointed as the director of the Directorate of Integration and Diversity.[2]

Barvik hails from Bø, Telemark, and has later lived at St.Hanshaugen and, since 1988, in Asker. He is married and has two children.[3] He was formerly a member of the Socialist Left Party, but quit the party due to its opposition to the EU in the early 1990s.
