Little is known of Gauntlet's past apart from he is a member of the Dark Riders. They captured Cyber so that Genesis could strip Cyber's adamantium from him in Genesis' plan to make Wolverine his first Horseman, but Wolverine rejected the adamantium and regressed to a feral state.

Gauntlet was believed to have been killed[1] after Wolverine used Deadbolt's severed head to lure Gauntlet towards him and then savagely attacked him, though he later proved to have survived.

Following the final defeat and disband of the Dark Riders, Gauntlet became a mercenary. Blaquesmith secretly contracted Gauntlet to hunt down Apocalypse when Apocalypse was merged with Cyclops.

Television

Gauntlet made an appearance in the animated television show X-Men Evolution in the fourth season episode Target X. He is one of HYDRA's premiere agents, and is a master of hand-to-hand and armed combat.

Gauntlet appears to have been either genetically altered or possessed a natural mutation that makes him stronger, tougher, and with keener senses than the average human being. Like other agents of HYDRA, he has access to a wide array of tools and equipment that make him a formidable opponent and a dangerous tracker.

Unfortunately for Gauntlet, he was aboard the hovercraft with the Supreme HYDRA which X-23 destroyed. He was taken prisoner by S.H.I.E.L.D. soldiers.
