Gathurst is a small village in the Metropolitan Borough of Wigan, Greater Manchester, England. It is on the outskirsts of the town of Wigan.[1] It was historically a part of Lancashire.[2] The village is served by a railway station Gathurst railway station which is located on the Manchester-Southport line and managed by Northern Rail. The station also serves the nearby village of Shevington.
