Galbiate is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Lecco in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 40 kilometres (25 mi) northeast of Milan and about 6 kilometres (4 mi) south of Lecco. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 8,511 and an area of 16.1 square kilometres (6.2 sq mi).[1] Lago di Annone is located on its borders.
Galbiate borders the following municipalities: Annone di Brianza, Civate, Colle Brianza, Ello, Garlate, Lecco, Malgrate, Oggiono, Olginate, Pescate, Valgreghentino, Valmadrera.
