Political career

Gabriel J. Campana has been the mayor of Williamsport, Pennsylvania since 2008. During Gabe Campana's tenure, crime has been cut [1] and economic development has increased.[2] Campana won re-election in 2011 by a 74% to 26% margin. He was a school teacher and 12 year member of the city council before being elected mayor. Williamsport has the only Kohls Department store in America that is located within its central business district. A planned 40 million dollar town center is also in the works for Williamsport. Since he has been mayor, the city has received an A+ bond rating. During his tenure, he has not signed a tax increase.

Education

Campana received post doctorate credits at Temple University and received a Doctorate degree in Administration at the University of Sarasota. In addition, he received a Master’s degree from Wilkes University and a Bachelor’s degree from Bloomsburg University

Personal life

Mayor Gabriel Campana is one of 11 siblings born and raised in Williamsport. His deceased father Dr. Louis F. Campana was a local physician and his mother Rose Campana, is a retired nurse.

Prior to his present post, Dr. Campana was a 5th grade teacher for nearly 20 years and taught Master’s degree classes at the College of New Jersey.
