Fulcrum Worldwide is a New Jersey based management consulting and Information and communications technology services company with offices in Reading, UK, Mumbai and Pune, India. Fulcrum provides website architecture service, Framework based solutions, Middleware integration, Cloud services, Mobile, User interface, Real-time business intelligence, Enterprise content management, and CRM among others. As of November 2013, the company has about 1000 workers and 150 clients across US, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
The company underwent several operational changes since its inception. It made its beginning as a technology services provider catering to US customers and gradually transformed into a software product development company.
On August 12, 2013, Fulcrum’s Indian unit in Pune moved to a 2000-seater knowledge campus at the Special economic zone in Hinjewadi.
History
Formation and Early Years
Fulcrum was incorporated on January 25, 1999 and started its operations from Fanwood, New Jersey, US. The company made inroads into the US IT space providing technology services. The enterprise started with a handful of workers and generated $1 Million in annual revenue by the year 2000 with 15 employees. Bhimesh Karadi and Dhana Kumaraswamy were among the first few employees, who continue to be with Fulcrum since its founding days.
Emergence of Fulcrum Worldwide
Fulcrum entered into UK market by establishing an office in Ireland in 2005. In the same year, it started at Los Angeles and incubated a global delivery model for the rest of the world markets. A year later, the company set up a "Development Center" in Reading, UK. Fulcrum graduated into a Capability Maturity Model Integration Level 3 Company in the year 2007 and established a new Development Center in Mumbai for .NET Framework project developments.
Growth
Fulcrum created a Product Engineering Group and launched Enterprise Product Framework for different verticals. It ventured into designing industry-specific products for solving business-critical problems. The company also launched cloud-based products for Higher Education, Insurance and Healthcare sectors. Later, Fulcrum qualified as a Liferay Silver Level Partner and expanded its scope for offering open-source services. Its Business intelligence solution for a US healthcare giant was implemented and a new Software deployment and Operations center in Pune, India was set up.
Global Offices
Fulcrum is headquartered in New Jersey, US. Its European HQ and nearshore development center is in Reading, UK. The team in UK takes care of project deliverables in and around UK with a focus on Higher Education and Healthcare sectors. In APAC, Fulcrum has its headquarters in Mumbai. A recent addition to Fulcrum’s global delivery centers is the 2000-seater knowledge campus in Pune’s IT hub.[1] About 1,000 workers are spread across the global centers serving over 100 clients worldwide.
Operations
Fulcrum’s day-to-day operations are in line with the Matrix management to facilitate cross functional project management. This helps Fulcrum in collaborative working and delivering services across businesses by maintaining integrated business functions. The organization structure is designed to be change-ready and responsive to new developments in global and local markets. Fulcrum is headquartered in New Jersey, with regional headquarters in Reading, UK and India. To develop broader people capabilities – a matrix helps develop individuals with broader perspectives and skills who can deliver value across the business and manage in a more complex and interconnected environment. According to the CEO of Fulcrum, the company has planned an investment of $30 million over the next five years. He also maintains that Fulcrum’s target market primarily remains USA, UK, Europe, & Asia Pacific Region but it intends to foray into other markets including South Africa and Middle East. [2]

Service offerings
Fulcrum offers services under different business units such as business consulting services, technology services and managed services. The company renders IT services to verticals such as: higher education, healthcare, insurance, media, retail, and manufacturing. On the Technology front, Fulcrum offers services on Liferay open source portal, SharePoint and IBM suite of products. It started working on open source offerings after graduating into Liferay’s certified Silver Partner. Custom Application Development, Collaboration & workflow implementation, and Business Intelligence Implementation come under the ambit of Fulcrum’s Liferay practice. [3] It delivers services in the UI domain and web development under Digital Services section. Fulcrum’s Business Consulting portfolio includes Cloud Consulting, BI assessment, Portal assessment, and Enterprise Architecture Assessment Framework.
Products
Fulcrum Worldwide entered into the global Higher Education Sector with its cloud based student portal framework – Kaleidoscope. After a short hiatus, it came up with another portal framework EdEdge to improve student and staff interactions within an academic institute. EdEdge provides students, faculty and university staff with 24-hour access to the academic and administrative information, applications and systems through a single point of access. Fulcrum came up with a self-service portal – iContesto, to meet the growing needs among insurance players to offer improved customer service. The product’s Service Oriented Framework, Web 2.0 Interactive Services and Identity and Secure access module Skeleton provide ‘Single - Click’ centralized dashboard to manage all Healthcare and Insurance Payer related services. Fulcrum announced the development of an automated SharePoint Data Migration Tool – Flyway. The tool has been designed to automate the process of consolidating multiple content sources into new SharePoint environment. This utility can migrate web-based intranet and extranet content repositories to any SharePoint version.

Liferay Silver Services Partner
Fulcrum entered into partnership with Liferay, a provider of enterprise open source portal technology. As a Liferay certified service partner, Fulcrum extended its service offerings in the open source market and expanded Liferay practice.
Awards and Recognitions
In 2012, Fulcrum Worldwide was rated among the Top 20 Best IT Employers in India by IDC Data Quest. [4] In 2013, Fulcrum won the ‘Short Hills Award for Business Management’ for demonstrating ability to “offer exemplary service to customers”. It also won ‘SmartCEO Future 50 Award’ for maintaining ‘honorable growth’ within the last 3 years. Fulcrum Worldwide wins Deloitte Fast 500 Award 2014, for being one of the fastest growing companies in Asia Pacific. Fulcrum is at number 406 in the ranking of fastest growing technology companies in Asia Pacific. [5] In 2015, Ernst & Young announced that Rajesh Sinha, founder and CEO of Fulcrum Worldwide, is a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2015. [6] [7]
CSR
Fulcrum has its own CSR committee chaired by CEO and members of all relevant departments who confirm the progress and decide measures to be taken in the coming days. The company takes into account the inputs received from social entities, non-profit organizations, and other agencies before launching an initiative. It has a disaster aid fund in place to deliver humanitarian relief to victims. Fulcrum also runs fundraising initiatives in cases of disasters of high magnitude. It also launches food donation drives across US, UK and India to collect substantial amount of food items for low-income families. Fulcrum works for Brain Injured Children in close coordination with IAHP. [8] It hosts knowledge sharing sessions on ways to develop brain injured children without medication. The company also manages and funds the corporate website of IAHP India. It undertakes annual tree plantation drive ‘Ankur’ in Pune’s Panchavati hills area in order to motivate the locals to plant and grow more trees. "Transforming Lives" is one of the regular initiatives driven by Fulcrum. Household items (including Clothes, Books, and Shoes) are donated to charitable organizations that empower individuals with disabilities. Fulcrum has also joined hands with a New Jersey-based organization Student/Partner Alliance to offer mentorship programs to children of poor families and strengthen their educational career. Employees conducted a cleanliness drive in Hinjewadi Phase 3, along with its CEO, and other staff members. They cleaned the entire campus and adjoining roads while collecting leftover papers, bottles, plastic bags, and disposed them off properly.[9]
