In the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing game, the froghemoth is a type of aberration.

Publication history

The froghemoth first appeared in Expedition to the Barrier Peaks.[1] It was introduced to AD&D at large in the first edition Monster Manual II (1983).[2]

The froghemoth appeared in second edition in Dungeon #56 (November 1995), and in Monstrous Compendium Annual Volume Two (1995).[3]

The froghemoth appeared in third edition in Dungeon #128 (November 2005).

Description

A froghemoth is a huge and weird creature that preys on large life forms in large swamps or relatively shallow bodies of fresh water.

Other publishers

The froghemoth appeared in the Tome of Horrors (2002) from Necromancer Games.[4]

The froghemoth appeared in Paizo Publishing's book Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Bestiary (2009).[5]

In the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, the froghemoth's possible extraterrestrial origins are expanded upon.[6] This is in reference to its debut in the science fantasy module Expedition to the Barrier Peaks, where it is encountered within a crashed spaceship's biodome.
