Freedom is an unincorporated community in Freedom Township, Portage County, Ohio, United States. Freedom is located at the junction of Ohio State Route 88 and Ohio State Route 700, 5.2 miles (8.4 km) west of Windham.[2]
A post office called Freedom was established in 1826, and remained in operation until 1903.[3] Freedom and Freedom Township most likely were named for the American ideal of liberty.[4]
