Fox Africa is the African version of the American channel FOX. Owned and produced by Fox International Channels and distributed by DStv, it was launched on July 9, 2013.[1] The channel is mainly oriented towards family audiences, unlike its sister channel FX.
The channel took part in the worldwide premiere of The Walking Dead and the Zombie Invasion Event promotion that led up to it. After the final episode of the first season of The Walking Dead aired, Fox released the uncensored version of the first episode. While many of the programmes that feature on FX continued to broadcast such as The Walking Dead, Dexter,True Blood, Falling Skies, Family Guy and NCIS on the African version as of 2014.[2]

Like History Channel and Discovery Channel, the channel features documentaries with factual content involving nature, science, culture, and history. Also in the Dstv platform using channel 181.
