Reputation
The Founders League schools are known for academic excellence, superior college placement, athletics, and, in many cases, storied histories. The member schools have a history of being among the most highly regarded and exclusive preparatory schools in America. All schools are known for their college placement, and many graduates of these schools go on to attend Ivy League schools, as well as other leading colleges and universities.
The Founders League Schools have had many notable alumni, including John F. Kennedy (Choate Rosemary Hall), Jackie Kennedy (Miss Porters), Henry Luce (Hotchkiss), Seth MacFarlane (Kent), Peter Seeger (Avon Old Farms), Ella T. Grasso (Loomis Chaffee), and Robert F. Wagner Jr. (Taft).
Furthermore, the Founders League schools boast wealthy endowments, exceptional athletics, and superb academics. In many sports, the winner of the Founders League often goes on to win the NEPSAC Division 1 championship.
The most popular sports in the league tend to be Hockey, Football, Lacrosse, Basketball, and Soccer.
Associate members
Deerfield Academy and the Salisbury School are associate members of the league and compete only in hockey.
