Fondazione Manodori

Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Reggio Emilia – Pietro Manodori known as Fondazione Manodori, is a non-profit organization based in Palazzo del Monte, Reggio Emilia, Emilia-Romagna. The organization originated from the saving bank of the city (Italian: Cassa di Risparmio di Reggio Emilia) found by Pietro Manodori.

Origins

The foundation was originated from the saving bank of the city, found 1852 by Pietro Manodori,[1] the president of local mount of piety (found circa 1494[2]). Due to Legge Amato, the daily bank operation and ownership were split into a società per azioni and a bank foundation in 1991. The bank was merged into Bipop Carire in 1999 and completely vanished in 2008. Cassa di Risparmio di Parma e Piacenza was a minority shareholder of the bank but was sold in 1999 in favor of the merger of both Bipop Carire as well as C.R.Parma e Piacenza to Banca Intesa.

Foundation today

Upon the merger of Capitalia and UniCredit, the foundation was a minority shareholder of UniCredit for 0.90% as the 8th largest shareholder.[3] It was decreased to 0.38% as of 31 December 2013.[4]
