Flubit is an online shopping service that generates competitive offers based on interest in a designated product. Users receive offers by submitting a URL from a compatible online marketplace into the site's "demand engine", which compiles offers from varying retailers. Users are then alerted to discounted prices for the product they showed interest in and have the option to purchase the product at that price or decline the offer.[1][2] Shoppers save 10% on average for products.[3]

The service claims to "disrupt" rather than compete with major retailing giants such as Amazon and eBay by diverting online shoppers from well established marketplaces to instead make purchases directly from smaller retailers.[1]

History

Flubit was founded in 2011 by Bertie Stephens, current chief executive, and Adel Louertatani, with offices in Wapping, London.[4]

As of May 2015, Flubit had a catalog with over 500 onboard merchants and over 20 million products.[3]

In 2014 Flubit secured a partnership with Barclaycard to launch a new service on their bespoke offers platform named beat my price.[5]

In April 2015, Flubit released it's Gift Finder tool. The feature uses several simple metrics based on a short customer questionnaire to create relevant suggestions for gifts priced with a Flubit discount.

In January 2016, Bertie Stephens and Adel Louertatani were listed in The Sunday Times' "Britain's 500 most influential" list.[6]

WeFlubit

WeFlubit is a subsidiary website providing information and tools to merchants wishing to integrate and sell through Flubit's marketplace. Flubit's integration system is compliant with over 30 eCommerce content management systems (CMS) including Magento, LinnWorks, OpenCart and VOLO.[7]

BeFlubit

On 7 May 2015, BeFlubit was launched to maximise partnership opportunities. The service enables white-labeling of Flubit's technology for use under a different brand name.[8]
