First Impressions is the first release by Thrice. It was released through Triforce Records, and is now long out of print and considered extremely rare. The exact release date of this EP is unknown, though it is believed to have been released in late 1998 or 1999. The EP was recorded in November 1998 three months after the band had formed.[1]

The fourth track, "T&C", features a dialog from the popular anime Dragonball Z. The title of the track, and the tracks melody, is derived from the NES game, T&C Surf Designs: Wood & Water Rage. The song would later be re-recorded for Thrice's first full-length album, Identity Crisis. It is the only track from this EP to be re-released on another album.
