Finance Committee (Georgia Senate)
The Senate Finance Committee is a 12 member legislative body consisting of a chairman, a vice-chairman, a secretary, two ex officio and seven members. The Committee operates under a Senate mandate to regulate the taxing authority and the collection of revenues for the state.[1]
Scope and jurisdiction
The Senate Finance Committee oversees the taxing authority and legislation for collecting revenues throughout the state. The Committee also deals with regulating the financial services industry as well as the securities and housing industries.[1]
