Fedde le Grand (Utrecht, 7 September 1977) is a Dutch house DJ. He is a producer best known for his 2006 track "Put Your Hands Up 4 Detroit". [1] Le Grand is a frequent headliner at mainstream EDM events like UMF and TomorrowLand, more unconventional EDM festivals such as Sensation and Coachella, popular club venues such as Pacha Ibiza, Green Valley, and Marquee LV, as well as home country events like ADE, Amsterdam Music Festival, and the annual DJMag Top 100 DJs Awards. Le Grand is also known for his remixes of popular artists such as Coldplay, Michael Jackson, Shakira, Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Timeflies, and Martin Solveig.

Biography

The single "Put Your Hands Up For Detroit" (UK/US) / "Put Your Hands Up 4 Detroit"[2] (Europe, excluding UK) reached the top five on the Dutch Top 40, number one in the United Kingdom and spent five weeks on the dance charts in Spain.

Fedde and his wife Tana are co-founders (with Funkerman and Raf Jansen) of Flamingo Recordings and mixes a weekly radio show called Dark Light Sessions that airs every Friday on satellite radio and features many of the Flamingo releases.

He has played a key role in the careers of talents such as Nicky Romero, Deniz Koyu and Danny Avila. In recent years he has intensified his commitment to discover talents, bringing to light emerging artists like Roul and Doors, John Dish, dBerrie, Jewelz & Sparks, Merk & Kremont, Mike Lucas and Simon Beta (also known as Doctors in Florence) and many others.

On January 12, 2015, Fedde released the instrumental mix of "Tales of Tomorrow" on Darklight Recordings; it featured collaboration with Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike. The vocal mix features English singer-songwriter Julian Perretta.

Every year, DJ Magazine announces the results of their annual Top 100 DJ Poll:[3] Fedde le Grand entered the rankings at #22 in 2007, placed #29 in 2008 and 2009,[4] climbed to #21 in 2010,[5] as high as #14 in 2011,[6] fell to #26 in 2012,[7] #29 in 2013[8] and #35 in 2014.[9]
