Fateh Hyderabad Associated Football Club also known as Fateh Hyderabad Football Club is an Indian football club based in Hyderabad, Telangana founded in 2015.
The newly founded Fateh Hyderabad AFC will make their debut in 2nd Division League. The team will play their home games in Lal Bahadur Stadium. The Hyderabadi club started their campaign in the 2nd Division League on 14 November in an away game against NEROCA FC in Imphal and will play their first home game against Gangtok Himalayan SC on 28 November in Lal Bahadur Stadium.
The club is owned by Yogesh Maurya and Aditya Narayanan, who studied together at Wharton Business School, officially launched the club on 4 September at Park Hyatt Hyderabad and its infrastructure for training and player accommodation is situated at Gundlapochampalli which is located in the outskirts of the city. Yogesh Maurya is also apart of the coaching staff and has attended AIFF's AFC 'B' Coaching Licence Course in Goa in September 2015 to improve his understanding of the game.
Fateh Hyderabad AFC has players selected from different part of the country with an average age of the squad is being 19 years, making them the youngest team in the competition. Though the club will try to be competitive in the league, according to the owners, qualifying for next year's I-League is not their priority. Their first priority is following a bottom up approach to football and will be spending more resources on infrastructure and the grassroots program.
Stadium
The Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium formerly known as Fateh Maidan is a football and cricket stadium in Hyderabad, Telangana.[4] The stadium was renamed in 1967 in memory of Lal Bahadur Shastri, India's former Prime Minister.Lal Bahadur Stadium is situated behind the police control room, between the Nizam College and Public Gardens in Hyderabad. It is the venue for many national and international sporting events, especially for football and cricket. The stadium was previously known as Fateh Maidan.
