Faruk Kabir born on 18 March 1983, is an Indian film actor and director.

Career

Faruk started his career at the age of 18 as an Assistant Director on the film Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani produced by Dreamz Unlimited owned by Shahrukh Khan, Juhi Chawla and Aziz Mirza.[1] He was an Assistant Director on the film Asoka which is directed by Santosh Sivan.[2] He then went on to study Film-Making, ScreenWriting and Acting at the prestigious New York Film Academy. He was also an assistant director on the film Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat.[3] He marked his directorial debut with the short film [The Awakening] in 2006 which boasts of stars like Ajay Devgan.[4] Faruk’s claim to fame is his critically acclaimed film [Allah Ke Banday], which he directed and acted in.[5] The film received 13 nominations in all, including Best Debut Director and Best Debut Actor for various award functions. The film also screened at the [Chicago Film Festival].[6] Actress Rukhsaar Rehman married to him in 2010. Rukhsar and Faruk were in a relationship for six years before they tied the knot on 23 March 2010[7][8] Faruk has also directed over a dozen music Videos with Artists like Sanober and Jassi and many other artists. Faruk Kabir is a part of and has associated with the [Super Fight League] which holds martial arts related events which are aired on Indian Television.[9] He even collaborated with SFL and BodyPower UK for the Body Power Expo which was held in March 2014.[10] Faruk has expertise in Boxing, Taekwondo, Brazilian Jujutsu, Judo and the Israeli combat art of Krav Maga[11]
