CF Fairview Park, (formerly known as Fairview Park Mall) situated at 2960 Kingsway Drive, is the largest shopping mall in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada with 730,000 square feet (68,000 m2) of Gross leasable area[1] and 120 stores.[2] It is owned and operated by Cadillac Fairview.[1]

Fairview Park opened in 1966, in the Parkway neighbourhood of the recently expanded City of Kitchener, between Kingsway Drive, Wilson Avenue, Fairway Road, and Highway 8. The mall's presence over the years has turned Fairway Road into a major commercial strip. It is one of the four biggest malls in the region.

The initial department-store anchors were Simpsons-Sears on the south end and a Zehrs supermarket at the north end. A new wing with Woolco was added on the east in the 1970s along with 20 stores, and Simpson's on the west was added in the 1980s along with 40 more stores. In the time since, Simpsons-Sears has become Sears, Woolco was converted to a Wal-Mart, and Simpson's became The Bay. The small Zehrs supermarket had been located facing Kingsway Drive, but moved to Weber Street across the Highway 8 Expressway (in an outdoor plaza on the site of the demolished 200 000 square foot "HiWay Market" grocery and department superstore, which had operated from 1952 to 1987) and its space was redeveloped, partially into the current food court and partially into a PharmaPlus location (which later closed).

From early 2007 to that summer, the mall underwent a major $33.4-million redevelopment. This renovation included a new food court and new interiors, including higher ceilings. The parking lot was also refurbished. It was the first major renovation since 1986.[3]

The mall is accessible from Highway 8 and Fairway Road, and is served by many Grand River Transit bus routes connecting to the surrounding areas of Kitchener and to Cambridge and Waterloo.

The terminal is located beside the southwest entrance to The Bay store.[4] This facility operates as a major hub for Grand River Transit (GRT), with most of the routes served terminating here. The Region's Ion rapid transit system will service here as well; in the initial stage, Fairview will be the Light Rail Transit line's southern terminus, with adapted Bus Rapid Transit continuing on toward Cambridge.
