The 9th Eurovision Young Musicians final was held in Vienna, Austria on 4 June 1998. Winner of the 1988 Contest, Julian Rachlin, was the host and performed during the interval.

Musicians from eight countries were selected to perform in the televised final. They were all accompanied by the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra under the leadership of Dennis Russell Davies.[1]
