European Federation of Psychology Students' Associations
The European Federation of Psychology Students' Associations (EFPSA) is the umbrella organization of national student societies in the field of psychology that are located in Europe.[1] It represents roughly 250,000 psychology students on the European level and is operated by approximately 60 volunteers.[2][3] It is an international non-governmental not-for-profit organization with four stated goals: "to serve psychology students, to contribute to society, to improve psychology, and to link professionals, academics, and students."[4]
History
Some key dates in the history of the organization are:[4][5][6]
- 1987 - EFPSA is founded by eight European national organizations at the first International Congress of Psychology Students in Portugal.
- 1989 - EFPSA is registered as an international association according to the Belgian law and the first Executive Board meeting is held in between two annual congresses.
- 1991 - EFPSA makes contact with the European Federation of Psychologists' Associations (EFPA) and grows to 11 members by welcoming the first Eastern European delegations.
- 2007 - First European Summer School takes place in Leie, Estonia.[7]
- 2009 - Journal of European Psychology Students is established.[8]
- 2010 - First Train the Trainers Summer School takes place in Austria.[9]
- 2013 - First Conference takes place in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.[10]

Journal of European Psychology Students
The Journal of European Psychology Students is a double-blind peer-reviewed open access academic journal covering all aspects of psychology published by the EFPSA [12][13] and Ubiquity Press since 2009.[14] Submissions have to be based on research conducted by bachelor or master students who may also be from outside Europe.[15] Articles are selected based on quality of research alone, disregarding the perceived importance and originality of a particular paper.[16] Articles are indexed in EBSCOHost.[16] The journal is edited by psychology students of European universities.[17]
Members
As of January 2015, EFPSA has 32 member organizations from different European countries and regions.[18]
