National Road 3 (also known as Jõhvi–Tartu–Valga maantee) begins from the 163rd kilometre of the National Road 1 at Edise village. The road is 219,3 kilometres long, including a 3,5 km long stretch in Jõhvi and a 10,8 km part in Tartu. The road ends on the 2nd kilometre of the National Road 6, in Valga.
Together with the Latvian A3 it forms the European route E264.
