Erica Anabella Farias (known as "La Pantera") is an Argentine boxer. She is the current WBC female super lightweight champion and former WBC female lightweight champion. She was born on July 13, 1984 in Virreyes, Buenos Aires.
Boxing career
She made her competitive debut as an amateur on December 10, 2005 against Carolina Lopez.
At the 2006 World Women's Boxing Championship, contested in New Delhi, India, Erica was defeated by Katie Taylor of Ireland in the 60 kg final.
She made her professional debut on July 25, 2009 at Estadio F.A.B. in Buenos Aires. She won a clear four-round unanimous decision over the hard-charging but less skilled Betiana Patricia Viñas.
Farias won his fight against Ann Saccurato, on 2011, after it was stopped in the 8th round due to an accidental headbutt.[1]
On April 4, 2014, Erica Farias was making her twelfth defense of her WBC lightweight title against Delfine Persoon. She loss in a ten-round unanimous decision.[2]
Erica won her second world title, WBC light welterweight, on November 15, 2014, defeating Alejandra Oliveras by split decision.[3]
On May 2, 2015, Erica made his first defense of her WBC super Lightweight title against Klara Svensson.[4] She won by Unanimous decision.[5]
