The equatorial akalat (Sheppardia aequatorialis) is a species of bird in the family Muscicapidae. It is found in Burundi, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, and Uganda. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.
