In 2014 the UK risked to get £300m fines a year and the European Commission legal proceedings for failing to reduce nitrogen dioxide (NO2) air pollution from traffic, despite 15 years of warnings. The UK air pollution causes 29,000 early deaths annually. Air pollution causes cancer, heart attacks and underdeveloped lungs for children.[1] This is a serious crisis.

According to Nicholas Stern the flooding and storms in UK in 2014 were clear signs of climate change. Author of the 2006 Stern Review said 2013-2014 weather is part of international pattern and demonstrates urgent need to cut carbon emissions.[2]
