Environmental Chemistry - Environmental problems, chemical approaches - is a peer-reviewed scientific journal publishing original research and review articles on all aspects of environmental chemistry. The Journal publishes manuscripts addressing the chemistry of the environment (air, water, soil, sediments, space, and biota) including atmospheric chemistry, (bio)geochemistry, climate change, marine chemistry, water chemistry, polar chemistry, fire chemistry, astrochemistry, earth and geochemistry, soil and sediment chemistry and chemical toxicology.

Papers are written in a style that is accessible to those outside the field, as the readership will include chemists, biologists, toxicologists, soil scientists, and workers from government and industrial institutions. The journal also publishes essays and opinion pieces on issues of importance to environmental scientists, such as policy and funding.

Environmental Chemistry is published monthly by CSIRO Publishing, an independent business unit within the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO).[1]The journal is supported by the Royal Australian Chemical Institute.

The editor-in-chief is Alison Green. According to the Journal Citation Reports, the journal has a 2014 impact factor of 2.509.[2]
