Entre Lajeunesse et la sagesse is the fourth album by Kate & Anna McGarrigle, released in 1980. Consisting entirely of songs in French, the album is also known by the title French Record.
The album title is a pun: Lajeunesse is a street name in Montreal, Quebec but, since la jeunesse means youth and la sagesse means wisdom, the title can also be interpreted as "between youth and wisdom".
It is considered by many fans, even those who don't speak French, to be one of the duo's best albums. It includes three French songs that appeared on the sisters' earlier albums, along with eight newly recorded tracks.
