Empetus (1986) is an album by the American ambient musician Steve Roach. Most of the album has a sophisticated, energetic style, similar to Now and Traveler, ending with a haunting, melodic piece titled “The Memory”.
The rights to Empetus reverted to the artist and the album has been remastered and re-issued in 2008 under the Projekt label, together with a bonus disc containing "The Early Years" recordings from 1982.
