Elena Hight (born August 17, 1989 in Kauai[2]) is an American Olympic snowboarder. She is a two-time Olympian, has medaled at four Winter X Games, and was the 2012 US Open Champion. She’s sponsored by: Volcom, GoPro, Smith Optics, Toyota, Nixon, Spring, B4BC, Sweat cosmetics, and Women’s Sports Foundation.

Personal life

Born on the island of Kauai, Hawaii, Elena was on a surfboard almost as soon as she could stand. Once her family relocated to the mountains of South Lake Tahoe, snowboarding was one of the first things that she learned to do. It soon became a passion that could not be denied. Snowboarding soon became a way of life for Elena.

At the age of 13 years, Elena became the first female to land a 900 in competition; and in 2013, she became the first snowboarder, male or female, to land a double backside alley-oop rodeo at the Winter X Games Superpipe finals in Aspen, Colorado. Now at the age of 24 years, she’s already a two-time Olympian and quickly asserted herself as one of the most recognized females in the sport.

In addition to snowboarding, Elena has a huge passion for running, yoga, surfing and cooking to balance her love for living an active, healthy life. Elena’s personality is often described as the “All-American” girl next door with an incredible athletic talent.

Career

Since the debut as a professional athlete, Elena has gathered nearly a dozen more podium finishes at major events including the Winter X Games, US Grand Prix, Burton US Open, the Winter Dew Tour, Vans Cup and more.
