Latest regional election
In the latest regional election, which took place on 24–25 February 2013, Roberto Maroni of Lega Lombarda–Lega Nord was elected President of Lombardy with the support of The People of Freedom. The election was the first snap election in Lombard political history and the first one paired with a senatorial election.

Latest European Parliament election
The European Parliament election of 2014 took place in Italy on 25 May 2014. In Lombardy the centre-left Democratic Party was by far the largest party with 40.3% of the vote, largely distancing Forza Italia (16.9%), the Five Star Movement (15.7%) and Lega Nord (14.6%).
