El Gaucho (Hebrew: אל גאוצ'ו) is an Israeli steak house chain with 7 branches around Israel, which opened its first branch in 1982.[1]
Menu
El Gaucho got its name from the Gauchos, or South American cowboys.[5] In traditional Graucho fashion, all grilled food is cooked over an open fire with charcoals,[5] and aged before cooking.[6] When ordering, in addition to ordering the type of steak you want, you also order by weight.[7] All food is served over coals to maintain the heat and eaten on wooden plates.[7]
Locations
As of September 2014, El Gaucho has 7 locations around Israel, which are located in:
Kashrut
Five of El Gaucho’s seven branches, as of September 2014, are kosher. Haifa, Jerusalem and Netanya are kosher, in addition to Rishon Lezion and Ramat Gan which are kosher lemehadrin.[1] Eilat and Herzliya are not kosher.
Other ventures
In addition to the restaurant locations El Guacho also offers a catering business and a line of frozen meat products.[15]
