El Afweyn, also known as Ceel Afweyn, is a town in the northern Sanaag region of Somaliland. It is the second largest city in the province.
Demographics
The broader El Afweyn District has a total population of 65,797 residents.[1] The city is primarily inhabited by people from the Somali ethnic group, with the Habar Je'llo sub clan of the larger Isaaq clan well-represented.[2]
