Eko Hotels and Suites is a five-star conference centre hotel in Lagos.[1][2][3][4]

History

Established in 1977[5] and built on Victoria Island, the hotel was initially called Le Meridien Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos. L'Hotel Eko Le Meridien is part of the Chagoury Group of companies.[2][4]

Design

The Hotel comprises three multistory buildings, clad in white with views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Kuramo Lagoon.[3] The hotel is strategically positioned next to the financial centres of Lagos Island: Victoria Island, (the most important business and residential district of Lagos) but shielded from the hustle and bustle of the metropolis. The hotel overlooks scenic wetlands such as the Kuramo Lake and the Atlantic Ocean. This location also proffers many room options with varying views of the sea and panoramic views of the city which has attributed a description of the hotel as an Environment of Aquatic Splendour.[1][2] The hotel's support facilities and convenient location allows easy access to leading companies in sectors as diverse as banking and finance, oil and gas, telecommunication, the diplomatic corps and international organizations. Eko hotel and suites has a sister hotel in Port Harcourt named Hotel Presidential.

Events

Eko hotel and suites functions as an events center. Events that have taken place at the hotel includes, concerts, movie premieres and ceremonies such as Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, Africa Movie Academy Awards and various exhibitions including the Annual Lagos Photo to mention but a few. The EXPO Hall and convention center is usually used for these events.[2][3]
