Dwight D. Eisenhower Middle School (EMS) is a middle school located in Wyckoff, New Jersey, as part of the Wyckoff School District. The school is named for late-President Dwight Eisenhower. As of 2013, the school principal is Chris Iasiello.[2] As of the 2013-14 school year, the school had an enrollment of 771 students and 58.8 classroom teachers (on a full-time equivalent basis), for a student-teacher ratio of 15.0.
Awards and recognition
For the 2003-04 school year, Eisenhower Middle School was recognized with the Blue Ribbon School Award of Excellence by the United States Department of Education,[3][4] the highest award an American school can receive.[5][6]
Extracurricular activities
The school maintains a wide variety of after school clubs, such as a, Games Club, Newspaper Club, Drama Club, Mathletes, Brain Busters, Homework Club, TAP, Orchestra, Jazz Band, Track, Basketball, Science Olympiad, and much more. The school also broadcasts a daily student-produced television show known as the "ETV", short for "Eisenhower TeleVision", which is aired live on Wyckoff cable channel 77 each weekday morning when school is in operation as well as on weekends at different times. It has a daily feature, school news updates, a Joke of the Day, a lunch update, birthday announcements, an ETV quiz question, and an opening and closing video where winners of the last ETV quiz are videotaped.
Also, there are many sports teams at Eisenhower, including Boys' and Girls' Soccer, Boys' and Girls' Basketball, Girls' Cheerleading, Boys' Baseball, Girls' Softball, and Boys' and Girls' Track-and-Field.
