Edmonton Elks
The Edmonton Elks were a Canadian football-rugby union team. The team originated as the Edmonton Rugby Football Club in 1890, they changed their name to the Edmonton Esquimaux in 1908. They appeared in the 1921 Grey Cup as the Edmonton Eskimos, but are not considered a part of Edmonton Eskimos history. They were the first western team to play in the Grey Cup game.[1] The team was renamed the Edmonton Elks in 1922 and played in the 10th Grey Cup but lost for the second consecutive year.[2]
