Edin Višća (Bosnian pronunciation: [ˈedin ˈʋiʃt͡ɕa]; born 17 February 1990) is a Bosnian professional footballer who plays as a winger for Turkish club İstanbul Başakşehir and the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

Club career

Višća spent his youth career at Budućnost Banovići.

After moving to Bosnian giants Željezničar, he got the first taste of senior level football. Playing for Željezničar, he established himself as one of the best players in the league, before moving to Turkey. At the time, it was the club record transfer fee.[2]

On 10 August 2011, Višća signed for İstanbul Başakşehir. He has signed a five-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2016.[3] He immediately made an impact on the team, becoming a regular starter in his first season with the club, and retaining that position throughout his tenure at the club.[4]

International career

Višća played long time for Bosnia and Herzegovina under-19 and under-21.

On 10 December 2010, he made his debut for the Bosnia and Herzegovina in a friendly against Poland.[5]

Višća was part of Bosnia and Herzegovina squad at 2014 FIFA World Cup and took part in the final outing against Iran as a second half substitute.[6]

On 12 June 2015, Višća scored his first goals for the senior national side, a brace against Israel in Zenica, during UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying.[7]

Personal life

Višća is a practicing Muslim; along with international team mates Muhamed Bešić and Vedad Ibišević he visited a mosque in Cuiabá during the 2014 FIFA World Cup.[8]
