Edward E. Burr "Ed" Burr (born October 25, 1956) is the founder, and president and CEO of GreenPointe Holdings LLC, a diversified land holding and real-estate company.

Education

Burr is a native to Jacksonville, and graduated from Fletcher High School in 1974.[1] He earned a B.S in accounting from the Florida State University School of Business in 1979.[2]

Early career

Burr began his career with Coopers & Lybrand LLP. In 1987, Burr founded the LandMar Group LLC, a holding company specializing in master-planned community developments throughout Florida and Georgia. LandMar Group LLC, has developed over 30 communities and developments throughout the Southeast.[2]

In 2007, Burr left LandMar and founded GreenPointe Holdings LLC, a homebuilding, infrastructure development and community development company. GreenPointe Holdings is organized into three divisions: GreenPointe Communities, GreenPointe Homes and GreenPointe pathways.[3]

Civic involvement

Burr serves on the board of trustees of Florida State University. He also serves on the board of the JAX Chamber,[4] where he chairs the Government Affairs division. Additionally he is a gubernatorial appointee to the Jacksonville Transportation Authority.[5]

In 1997, Burr founded the Monique Burr Foundation for Children to provide training and education to prevent and reduce the rate of abuse among elementary students. The Monique Burr Foundation was instrumental in developing MBF Child Safety Matters, a Florida public elementary school initiative to prevent bullying, cyber bullying, digital abuse and all forms of child abuse.[6]
