Eccleshill United F.C. are a football club based in Wrose, which is a ward of Bradford, in West Yorkshire, England. They are members of the Northern Counties East League Division One.
History
Formed in 1948, Eccleshill played in the Bradford Amateur League and the West Riding County Amateur League. In 1985, they joined the Northern Counties East League Division Three. They finished 3rd and were moved up to Division Two when the league scrapped Division Three. Eccleshill finished 2nd in 1987 and were promoted to Division One. Another league re-organisation moved Eccleshill up to the Premier Division in 1991, they were relegated in 1994. Eccleshill were promoted back to the Premier Division after winning the Division 1 title in 1997 and stayed there until they were relegated in 2009.
In the F A Cup, Eccleshill have never been further than the 2nd Qualifying Round, though they did win 2–1 at Northern Premier League Guiseley in 2001–02 and held another NPL side, Marine to a 2–2 draw the following season before losing the replay. In the FA Vase, Eccleshill reached the 5th Round in 1999–2000, losing to Vauxhall Motors.
Eccleshill reached the West Riding County Cup final in 2000, losing to Garforth 0–2. Eccleshill also won the Bradford FA Cup in 1986.
As of 3 July 2010, Bradford City announced that they would play their all their home reserve team games for the 2010–11 season at Plumpton Park.[1]
In season 2010–11 former professional footballer Ian Banks took over as manager with Grant Crookes as his assistant after they both left AFC Emley whom they managed for the past two seasons.
In late 2012, the former Bradford City captain and assistant manager, Bobby Davison took over as head coach.[2]
In late 2014, Gerard Jones took over as head coach from Mark Tinker having been promoted from within, where he was previously the U18s and Reserve Team Manager[3][4]
