East Central Conference

The East Central Conference was a high school athletic conference of teams in the East Central Wisconsin area. The ECC was founded in 1970 and disbanded in 2007. In 2007, four of its teams were folded into the new Eastern Valley Conference with six other schools from the old Valley 8 Conference. The members in 2007 were Berlin, Ripon, Winneconne, Omro, Winnebago Lutheran Academy, and Waupun. The Conference will be revived for the 2015-2016 School Year with the WIAA Realignment. Members will be Berlin, Campbellsport, Kettle Moraine Lutheran, Kewaskum, Plymouth, Ripon, Winneconne and Waupun.

History

1970-2007

Founded in 1970 with Berlin, Hortonville, New London, Omro, Ripon, Waupaca, Weyauwega and Winneconne as the original members. In 1973 Weyauwega went to the Central Wisconsin Conference. in 1974 Little Chute was brought in from the CWC. In 1979 New London Left to the Bay Conference in Exchange for Central Wisconsin Conference Wautoma. In 1995 Wautoma moved to the Flyway for football only. while Waupun took their place. In 1999 Hortonville, Little Chute & Waupaca went to the Newly Formed Valley 8 Conference, while Waupun became a full-time member & welcomed in Laconia & Markesan. Things would change when the ECC would merge with the Flyway Conference to form 2 Divisions the Rivers & Lakes in 2001. This would go for a few years then the flyway would go back on its own & the East Central had one year left. The Conference was fully Disbanded one year later & 4 of the ECC Teams Joined old Valley 8 teams to form the Eastern Valley Conference.

Revival 2015-Present

With a several conference realignments in North Eastern Wisconsin, 8 Schools were set to join a newly formed Conference, Those schools Berlin, Campellsport, Kewaskum, Kettle Moraine Lutheran, Plymouth, Ripon, Waupun & Winneconne decided to be known as the East Central Conference as several members were once part of the ECC.

East Central-Flyway Lakes/Rivers Division

In 1999 when the Conference was realigned the Conference joined up with the Flyway to form the East Central-Flyway. The Conference was split into the Lakes and Rivers Division. This conference was in place until 2006 when several teams were moved around to different conferences and The Conference then split The Rivers Division was renamed to the Flyway Conference & the Lakes took the East Central name.

Mayville played in the Lakes for Football along with Springs for a few years. Markesan & Laconia also played in the Rivers only for Football only but in the lakes for all other Sports.
