Dragon City is a social network game from social games developer Social Point which was launched for play on Facebook in May 2013 and for download on iOS in 2013.[1][2] In August 2014 the aforementioned developer made the game available for download on Intel Atom tablets for Android.[3] The game targets mid-core players, allowing them to raise their own dragons and create a Dragon City on floating islands. In December 2012 The Next Web ran an article announcing that Dragon City was ranked #2 in Facebook's 25 top rated games that year.[4]Dragon city connects with Facebook, and give you a special dragon and 10 gems.
Dragons
Currently there are 507 dragons. Deus, the god, or ultimate dragon builder created most of the dragons. To level up a dragon you must feed it 4 amounts of food, as you level up, it takes more food to level them up. You can grow food, or you can buy it for gems. To get to different levels, some need temples that work for all your dragons. There is also a ancient portal in which you can go back to a different world, grow dragons, send them to special islands, evolve them, breed them, and summon new one. (For this ancient place you can not customize). There are several events a month in which you can work hard by breeding, feeding, growing food, fighting, and collecting gold, in which you can get a rare dragon, sometimes new.
Customizing
In dragon city, there are 6 main islands, and once you get really far in the game you can unlock 3 more islands. You have to buy each island for gems and money, if you have a certain amount of friends you can buy that island, or part of an island for a cheap amount of gold, if you do not have enough friends you have to pay with gems. You can clear rocks, plants, and trees out of the way with gold, even if you have not bought the island yet. These plants, rocks, and trees do not appear back. There are 6 towers, 1 for each main island that you have to unlock a mission. Once doing this you will have a power for every time the timer counts down. Island 1 dragon gives you gold bonus for an hour, Island 2 dragon gives you 1 gem a day. Island 3 dragon gives a skip on food production. Island 4 Dragon give you a battle boost. Island 6 gives you a skip on breeding. Island 6 dragon gives you a skip on training. There is another breeding island where you can breed speciel dragons. There is an ancient portal that sends you to a different realm, and allows you to evolve dragons, breed them, find new ones and put them in habitats. The dragons from these are very powerful, and rare. In the shop you can go to the shop, dragons, habitats, decorations, and buildings, each where you can buy things. Once you place these on your islands, you can move them around.
Events
In Dragon City, around 1 - 3 times a month there is an event where you have to get items buy winning league battles, winning a customized battle, feeding your dragons and collecting gold. Once you finish all of what it asks you to do, you can earn a rare and special dragon. These events are not rare. Around once a month there is a major event that lasts around 20 days, but there are smaller ones, some are half's and last 4 days. There are also really small events that last a day, like if you feed your dragon, collect enough gold, spend enough money, spend enough gold, and more, you can earn gems, and rare dragons. There are also events in which you can buy a rare new dragon, and the event last a amount of units.
Battles
There are event battles, that help get you a dragon. There are also tournament battles, where you have to win 10 battles, and you get a free dragon. There are also leuge battles. These are the hardest and progress with level. Once you beat it you get several rewards, food, gold and gems. There are 7 battles to win, and you can only do 3 at a time.
Dragons Based on Music Celebrities and Friom Mythology
There are several dragons that are referenced from real life, such as the Umbrella Dragon,( Rihanna). The Believer Dragon (Justin Bieber). The Wrecking Dragon (Miley Cyrus) and the Lady dragon (Lady Gaga). All appearing in the Dragon Idol Update. ( February, 2016).
From mythology one of the main characters in Dragon City, Deus, is based on the Greek God Zeus. There other specimens such as the Hades Dragon, the Atlas Dragon and the Poseidon Dragon, from the Olympus update. There are 507 dragons new ones from small events, medium events, large events and regular updates. There are over 507 and if one includes the ancient world game appendix more than 520 dragons.
