Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre is a diabetes speciality hospital chain in Southern India headquartered in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Its one of the India’s leading diabetes care providers offering complete diabetic services.[1] In the year 1991, Dr V. Mohan along with his wife Dr Rema started this diabetes centre as a private limited company with 4 consultant doctors which now has grown to 30 centres and more than 1000 staff.[2][3] This diabetes speciality hospital is known for waging a war against the diabetes in the country.[4][5] This Hospital had treated more than 2.4 lakhs people in the year 2011.[6] Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre is the collaboration centre for World Health Organisation on Non Communicable Diseases Prevention and Control.[7][8]
Founder
Dr V. Mohan born on 1954 in a small town of North Pudur in Kerala. He worked with his father M Viswanathan as a diabetologist and a researcher till 1990 at MV Hospital and Diabetes Research Centre, Chennai which was started by his father. Later, in 1991 he started this diabetes hospital.

Dr. Mohan's Diabetes Specialities Centre have 7 centres in Chennai, 2 centres in Vellore[10] and Hyderabad, 1 centre each in Coimbatore,[11] Madurai,[12] Pondicherry and Chunampet.[13]

- Dr. Mohan's Diabetes Specialities Centre is the first diabetes centre in India to offer bariatric surgery.[17]
- Dr V. Mohan founder of DMDSC, is a recipient of national award Padma Shri from the Government of India.[18] This diabetes center is known for waging a war against the diabetes (silent disease) in the country.[19][20]
