Douglas King (courtier)

Douglas King LVO was Assistant Private Secretary to Queen Elizabeth II from 2007 to 2012, however, he left to take up a position in a non-profit organisation called Dimensions.

King had previously been Director of Employment Framework at the Ministry of Defence. He joined the Civil Service in 1984 and, among other appointments, has been Deputy Command Secretary at RAF Strike Command.[1]

King served as Private Secretary to the Minister for the Armed Forces, 1995-99.

King relinquished his appointment as Assistant Private Secretary to The Queen in September 2012, for which he was invested as a Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order (LVO) personally by Her Majesty.[2]
