Dongguan Rail Transit or Dongguan Metro is the metro system of the city of Dongguan in Guangdong Province of China. Dongguan Rail Transit's will be operate by the state-owned Dongguan Rail Transit Corporation, Limited. Line R2 first section's construction began on 26 March 2010 and it is scheduled to be open in May 2016 with 15 stations.[1][2]

History

On 14 August 2015 one of the stations in construction was demolished due to landslide with one victim.

Line 2

Line 2, the first section 15 station and 37.743 km long, from Shilong (Dongguan Railway Station) to Humen Coach Terminal in Dongguan. It is expected to be open in May 2016.[2]

Rolling Stock

Nanjing Puzhen Rolling Stock Works and Bombardier Transportation will supply the 20 6-car sets (Type B metro cars - Bombardier Innovia Metro[3]) for Dongguan.[4] The will be built in Västerås, Sweden and Changzhou.
