Principal photography on the film began in late-August 2015 in New York City, Mike Birbiglia directing the film based on his own script.[1] Birbiglia would also produce the film along with Cold Iron Pictures' Miranda Bailey and Amanda Marshall, while Cold Iron and The Film Arcade would finance the film.[1]
