Ding Liren (Chinese: 丁立人; born October 24, 1992) is a Chinese chess grandmaster. In August 2015, he became the second Chinese player after Wang Yue to break into the top 10 of FIDE rating list. Ding is the highest rated and the highest ranked Chinese player ever to date.

On 6 June 2009, at the age of 16, he became the youngest ever person to win the title of Chinese Champion. In April 2011 he won the Chinese Chess Championship for the second time, and won the title again the next year at the age of 19.^[2] In October 2009, he became China's 30th grandmaster.^[3] He took part in the Chess World Cup 2011, but was defeated in the first round by Wesley So.^[4] Ding Liren attended Peking University Law school.

In the 2015 Tata Steel Chess Tournament, Ding Liren finished in a tie for second, half a point behind Carlsen. After the tournament, Ding and Carlsen trained together in Doha, Qatar.^[5]

• October 2012: SPICE Cup in St. Louis, USA, tied for 2nd with 5½/10^[11]
• In the 2013 Alekhine Memorial tournament, held from 20 April to 1 May, Liren finished ninth, with +1−3=5.^[12]
